Avalon Explained

Diving in Deep

Avalon Is Different

Avalon is a new and original post-apocalyptic story that will have you hooked from the moment you pick it up. You will follow the Castle family through this nightmarish world where they must confront a new type of zombie infection. On top of this new zombie infection, you immediately see that the family has a dysfunctional past. Some of the family members are dealing with anxiety and depression, while others are dealing with ongoing health issues.

In Avalon, we did not want to focus on a certain individual's “hero journey,” as we believe that story has been told so many times before. Instead, the main protagonist is the entire family.

We take time, focus, and pride on making these characters feel as real as possible! There is nothing better than completely understanding a character (or characters), right?! As fictional as the genre can be, we ground it in as much realism as we can. We devote a lot of time into making each character as relatable as possible, while still writing them as uniquely as any individual should be.

Why Avalon?

Some of you may ask, “Why should I buy Avalon?” or “Why should I invest my time into Avalon? Avalon has a lot going for it, such as:

  • Numerous story arcs, making this an on-going story.

  • Heavy focus and attention put towards the realism of this series. We understand that there are so many other routes that can still be explored in this genre that have not been touched upon or have been a main focus. We are fearlessly going down those roads.

  • Many relatable topics, such as bullying, mental health, physical health and wellbeing, difficult decision making, realistic consequences for actions, love interests (and love/romance), family problems, and many more. We bring all these real life decisions, characters, and problems into this world to make you wonder, "How would I do in this world?" To have so many relatable characters dealing with even more relatable issues will easily allow you to immerse yourself into this world, and give you an idea of how long you'd survive!

Avalon is just the beginning of this wonderful apocalypse. The whole team is thinking about how many unique ways we can expand the universe of Avalon. With potential story lines of back stories, new character stories, how this came to be, and more!

Plans for the future

We have BIG goals for Avalon and the world that we created. Our current goal, is to get out an Issue each quarter of the year. As the family grows, we WANT to get Issues out once a month (or bi-monthly).

Avalon is the beginning of 1282 and the production of bringing you amazing comics to read. Make sure you are sticking around for the intense journey of the Castle family.
